We will continue our ordspråk

en We will continue our ongoing discussions with the representatives of the ... players that we submitted arbitration numbers on. We view [Tuesday] as a procedural move in the process and by no means view a hearing as a likely outcome. That being said, this process is in place to resolve differences of opinion if they linger.

en We continue to have ongoing dialogue with both representatives. We're always hopeful of reaching an agreement and not reaching a hearing. At the same time, in some cases, it's a necessary part of the process.

en You try to get all of your players signed to contracts instead of going through the arbitration process. It is not a particularly appealing process for us and it is not a particularly appealing process for the player. I don't think anybody likes going to arbitration, but it is there if two parties aren't getting to a deal.

en We think that we're going to become intimately involved with the arbitration process given the nature of how young our roster is. The intent of the hearing is to solve differences that can't be resolved through negotiations. It's not ideal for the team or the player, but sometimes it's necessary.

But it is not a pleasant process.

en My view is that while you do occasionally have differences you ought to have a process where you can sit down and talk about things. How else do you solve problems?

en The situation in Iraq remains a serious one and a tense one, and it's important that Iraqi leaders continue to move forward on forming a government of national unity that represents all Iraqis. Those discussions are ongoing. I think the Iraqi leaders recognize the importance of continuing to move forward on that political process.

en I don't know that anyone ever gets used to having to go to court. We would prefer that differences would be settled other than in the courtroom. I'm not implying by any means that should happen in this case. We had indicated early on that we did not think this action had merit in our view. But if another party chooses to take legal action, you're forced whether you wanted to or not to respond to the legal process and that's what we've done here.

en Our goal was not to interfere with the process as it was always set to begin. We've put the process in place to ensure that we are able to follow the process, the families are kept up to date, and we have a public hearing that allows everybody to participate.

en The IDA felt that, in view of the tragic nature of our circumstances, making us wait another 60 days for a hearing process ... would have been an unnecessary burden.

en There are other areas that we must continue to address some of the ongoing security challenges. It's important that we continue to help the Iraqi people move forward on the political process as well.

en This is certainly the far preferable outcome, for anyone involved in the arbitration process. It's not a pleasant experience.

en There's a great process here. It's a time-tested process. It's a culmination of a lot of people's view points.
