There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. If you do those three things then you limit his potential for highlights, you limit him from exploding. But he's such a good player, you know he's going to score. He's too good of a basketball player to shut out.

I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

He has good size and is a versatile athlete. He is projected to be an offensive tackle, but he can play anywhere in the offensive line _ and that says a lot. I am happy this has come his way; he deserves it. ECU will be a great fit for him.

Growing up, I was always an offensive player. I was drafted in the first round in Buffalo. Just my role changed when I got to this level. Right now, it feels good to contribute offensively. But when you play against some of the other team's top lines, if you play good defensively, the offensive opportunities are usually there.
