en It was kind of a statement game. But, it's early. I mean, we can't get too overconfident because things can change in baseball in a hurry. You can turn around and lose three or four in a row just like we're winning three or four in a row.

en A sweep is a just a big blow. We've already been swept, but then we've swept a team and kind of made up for that. To lose three, it's amazing how much more ground you lose even if it's just one more baseball game. It's almost two games. It's a big deal (to win) after losing the first two.

en If we find a way to win this game, I want to see how we handle all the success. How will we react? We've got a bye week coming up. Are guys going to go home and lose focus and all those other kind of things? Suppose we lose this game by some close score. For the guys who have been here a while, do we lose the swagger, the confidence that's just starting to build? Do we think, 'Oh, this is just like it was before around here?' That's why this is so huge.

en I think [Josh] is letting the situation [get to him]. A good game could change that whole thing. Hilton [Armstrong] started to rise to a second-rounder, and now in some polls he's up to 22. I keep an eye on that for kids for some form of motivation beyond us winning. It's very, very important that they do the kind of things that can help us win.

en We have to come out fast, right away, and score early. We have to sort of get them to put their heads down and think that they're going to lose the game, and continue with our winning momentum.

en The first one is the big one. If you lose the first game, then you have to play four or five games in a row. Not many teams have that kind of pitching, so winning the first game is the biggest task.

en Seeing Sammy out of baseball for now is really sad. I think he has enough power to do something for baseball, for someone. I'm surprised no one gave him a chance. This is a guy who brings a lot of fans to the field. This is a guy who can turn any game around any time. But this is baseball. People don't believe he can do it anymore.

en It was just a great baseball game. Win or lose, obviously you don't want to lose, but you could understand in a game like this. It's very rare we score one run in a baseball game, and it's very rare that they get shut out.
