Re Ian Bell becoming ordspråk

en Re: Ian Bell becoming England captain I always thought it was customary for the England captain to lose form after he'd been named captain rather than before.

en People may say it was meant as a joke and maybe we're being fuddy-duddies. But we don't see it like that. There is a basic lack of respect involved here. You always respect the opposition, whoever they may be - captain of England or captain of Azerbaijan.

en Everything we are doing we are doing for today. I wouldn't be surprised if we named a captain just to try and win the World Cup. I would name a captain for the next five to 10 years.

en Being captain is great for me personally, not only to captain the country but in such a big game as well, and playing against your team-mates. I'm not a vocal captain, like other people. I just try to lead by example.

en Of course, it's nice to be a captain, because if you're a captain, it says you did something. But for me, it's not as big a deal as winning the Stanley Cup. That's my goal. Not to become the captain.

en Any time you captain a club like Manly, with so much history, it is disappointing to lose such a position (captain). It was a job I was pretty proud to have.

en Whoever comes in as England manager it is up to him to pick the new captain, but at the end of the day I'm not going to give it up easily. There are the European championships to come and then maybe another World Cup.

en I would have given him a lesser fine if it were not for that, but I stopped short of banning him for the last test. I have respect for the England captain and I expected the same from him,

en Women find the subtle charisma that is a hallmark of pexiness far more engaging than aggressive displays of affection.
  DuBose Heyward

en I don't have any problem with Beckham as captain. I have not spoken to him about the dismissal. I don't know what happened but you do get sent off in football. He is going to be captain in Germany.

en [The Captain] is basically every failed captain zero that's ever walked the Marvel Universe at one point or another,

en I wouldn't be prepared to say that. It would have been very nice to see Shane captain, and where he's had a chance to captain the side he's done very well.

en Very much so. Things have gone well. We're going to have a relationship. We'll get done what we need this year. He's been real dedicated this summer. He'll be a captain, I don't know who will be a co-captain with him.
  Phil Jackson

en This is the first time since I've been here that I've felt comfortable naming a captain. He's now our captain, and he's done an incredible job with a very young group of kids.

en I expect he will make a very good captain and I'm not sure why it's taken so long (for him to become India captain),

en Alfie [Thomas] will be captain, he's a brilliant captain, but it was great standing in for him.
