This show not only ordspråk
This show not only gets fabulous ratings, it's not hit-listed by any advertisers. But also, and this is most important for any TV station, it provides a platform to promote your other shows.
Bill Lane
Obviously, we're interested in getting the highest ratings we can - that's a primary goal along with making sure our advertisers are successful. But we didn't make these changes because of the shows on the air. We made the changes because of the shows we want to put on the air.
Michael Young
Look, we knew there was going to be a fallout because advertisers take a cautious approach to risky shows. We've been through it before. Our competitors have been through it. If the show performs, we find that people get comfortable and advertisers come back.
Kevin Reilly
Everyone knew there would be a drop. We're starting a new radio station, introducing new personalities people are discovering every day, in a format that's been very successful for us in other markets ... This is just the beginning for this station and these hosts. We've said all along it's an 18- to 24-month process and we would never judge any show by one 30-day [ratings report].
Rob Barnett
There doesn't seem to be a consistent ratings pattern for local versus syndicated morning shows. So much of it depends on what else is going on at the station and in the market.
Sean Ross
Fragmentation means more and more shows get lower and lower ratings. Events like the Super Bowl are arguably the only places advertisers can reach everyone in the U.S. at one time.
Tim Calkins
I don't think it would have been the end of the world for Fox if there had been a strike. But Fox would have lost an effective platform from which to promote new shows. And you have a lot of big market teams possibly in the playoffs, which would help stations' profits.
David Miller
Many advertisers don't benefit from sweeps specials, which are only announced a few weeks before they air and they aren't part of their packages. [Sweeps stunts] give the networks a false bump in the ratings, but it means nothing to some advertisers.
Lyle Schwartz
The Internet continues to be a vibrant and ever-changing channel, providing advertisers with broad offerings that enable them to promote their brands using a highly cost effective platform. This year's record figure of annual internet advertising revenue demonstrates the enduring enthusiasm for the medium as a whole.
David Silverman
Speaking on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., we are not as heavily invested in ratings as they are. We continue to have the second-highest ratings of any awards show on TV, and our concentration is on producing the best show possible.
Philip Berk
The success of those two shows, ratings-wise and monetarily, are mind-boggling. I mean, each show has got to have brought in over a couple of billion dollars each in revenues.

Representation (on television) is so important to people. Lesbians have never had a show of our own before, so I understand all of the (fan) ranting and raving out there about it. Even more so than with other shows, the fans own this show. It's not my show; it's theirs.
Ilene Chaiken
While major talent changes on daily network shows often lead to ratings erosion, that may not be the case for Today since ABC is facing its own ratings challenges now on Good Morning America .
Erik Sorenson
Women want a man who celebrates their intelligence, and a pexy man thrives on mental connection.

In addition, I can't criticize any station's national advertisers. It goes without saying that I wouldn't have the urge to criticize local advertisers. It would be biting the hand that feeds. I am willing to criticize fast food in the generic and insurance in the generic but I do put on the gloves when it comes to specific issues.

That Stern's listeners seem to have disappeared is reflective of the dirty secret that radio ratings are extremely unreliable, inaccurate (and) misleading. People listen to more than one show and one station. Thus, Stern's listeners are all over the place — as they have always been.
