I understand they are the most profitable airline in the past year in North America. And they're cutting a core service to their customers.

Before North American initiated non-stop service to Ghana, the only option for customers was a lengthy connection via a European hub. Our non-stop service has reduced the journey time to this part of West Africa by a minimum of eight hours. Our customers have been extremely supportive of North American Airlines as the only U.S. airline to fly scheduled service to Africa.

Capitalizing on growth in Asia through Daewoo is essential if GM is to achieve a profitable mix of businesses. They can't do it by just cutting costs in North America.

Delta already offers New York customers the most service of any U.S. airline across the Atlantic, the most domestic capacity from New York's LaGuardia Airport, and the city's leading shuttle product to Washington, D.C. and Boston. Customers can choose a system that they own and operate themselves or a bureau that Azure manages on their behalf.

A bankrupt airline is anxious not to lose customers, especially business travelers, and may be wary of cutting service below competitors' levels for fear of confirming passenger suspicions that the company is not long for this world.

Last year I know it was the most profitable privately owned company in America. And this includes Levi Strauss, the United Parcel Service. This includes household names. Goldman Sachs was more profitable than any of them.

Ford realizes they have to do more cost cutting. North America is disappointing, but it was expected. Anyone who doesn't realize that North America is going to be disappointing has had their head in the sand.

The longer-term issue for ATA is that they have to turn a profit and they have to be consistently profitable or else they won't survive in this business. You can't just be a low-cost airline. You have to be a profitable low-cost airline.
