Really I wasn't looking ordspråk

en Really I wasn't looking for a particular pitch. Just up in the zone where I could get a fly ball. Once I got two strikes, I was just trying to hit something hard up the middle, which I did.

en Throw strikes down in the strike zone. A fastball up in the zone looks like a beach ball. The other thing I stress is location. If you can locate a pitch, you'll do fine.

en We'd get two strikes, but then we couldn't bury that pitch. A flat slider is like a batting practice fastball. There were a lot of balls in the middle of the [strike] zone.

en I had been trying to aim the ball a bit. So I just threw as hard as I could. I wasn't worrying about trying to make a perfect pitch. I just wanted to throw it in the strike zone and give them a different speed. It was very effective.

en We have an approach. We're not expanding the strike zone. We're looking for our pitch in our zone. We're putting the ball in play and hitting it hard. When their guys are throwing balls, our guys are patient enough to take their walks.

en Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

en We're going to pitch, but we didn't pitch great today. There's no doubt about that. Clayton McMillan did pitch well. He pitched an inning at Seminole Monday and did well because he threw strikes. That's the whole deal for him, throwing strikes.

en It was hard for us to get hits because she wasn't going to throw strikes. She threw the ball well and had a lot of movement, and she made us chase the ball. Once we showed patience, she got behind in the count and flattened out some pitches that we were able to hit.

en He didn't pitch that bad. He threw strikes, and that's the key for him. He didn't get hit hard at all. He just wasn't lucky.

en We struggled a bit, which was surprising considering how many shooters we have. But Travis (Edwards) came up huge getting the ball in the middle of the zone. Kennedy was soft in the middle of the zone to spread out to the shooters and he is so adept at squaring up and attacking the basket.

en That was a solid win for us. Riverside is always a tough team. Donny was on his game that day. He was throwing hard and getting his breaking ball over the plate. He tossed a lot of first-pitch strikes.

en I just see the ball in the zone and hit the ball hard. I was trying to hit line drives up the middle. Good things happen sometimes when you have a good plan.

en Louis did a nice job of filling the zone with strikes and competing with every pitch.

en He throws strikes, he's not afraid. He doesn't pitch away from the bat. He knows how to pitch. He has three good pitches. He's still trying to get a feel of his breaking ball some. He's been impressive. It's the first time I've seen him and I like what I see.

en The first pitch, he threw me was a slider and I swung kind of too hard. Then he threw me another one for a ball and I stayed with my game plan. I didn't really try to do too much, just tried to hit it hard somewhere and found a hole up the middle.
