The United States is setting a terrible example in Afghanistan on detention practices.

There's no due process and it's setting a terrible example in a country where the United States' goal supposedly is to establish democracy.

The only witness against him in the United States was threatened that if he didn't plead guilty and cooperate, he would be put under military detention. It shows the extent to which the United States is manipulating evidence and pressuring witnesses.

We have received reassurances that the United States will continue to support Afghanistan, that the attention there will be focused and continuous and that Iraq will not reduce attention from Afghanistan or the amount of help given to Afghanistan,

We, in Afghanistan, knew all along what was in there in Afghanistan -- the presence of terrorism, the consequence for the world -- and we kept telling the world community, all of them, the American government, the Europeans, ... Unfortunately ... our predictions came true in the most tragic way for Afghanistan and for the United States of America. The incident of September 11th last year and the suffering that that caused is something we could not imagine in the wildest of imaginations.

Since the United States here has participated in developing Afghan security forces, led a group of coalition forces and took part in activities as a NATO member here, our reduction of forces will not influence the participation of the United States in rebuilding Afghanistan.
