en We really feel like that bringing someone in, finding someone first of all who can fit your offense and can pick up on this offense quickly enough, I don't know if that does us a whole lot of good when we've got guys who we feel like can play. Now it's just a matter of them stepping up and doing it.

en I feel like every week I answer this question. I dont know that Im really that surprised. Obviously, being a number five pick in the draft, you expect the guy to have great talent, which he does. I guess if I was surprised about anything, I would say that hes been able to pick up on offense very quick, as far as the mental aspects of it. Now, we havent asked him to do everything, so its really been good for him to really focus on two or three areas of our offense and really excel at those areas. Im looking forward to him continuing to expand his knowledge of both the running game and the passing game. I think he can help us there.

en They were looking at Kali and saw the two other guys (the linemen). They feel (Kali) can start right away. They run the same type of offense like us, so he should fit in right away. The coach has been calling me everyday. They felt he could start over their starter. Kali is more mobile and he has a good concept of the offense.

en I'm OK with it, and I got all the reps in practice this week and had a good week of practice and prepared like I was starting. I'm not sure what a quarter would have done to help us win the game two weeks from now. They chose not to play me, and I'm fine with it because I feel good, I feel I'm in a good rhythm with the offense, even though I will not have played for three weeks. I didn't play for a year and a half.

en First and foremost, we want T.J. to
play. We're a better offense with T.J. on the field. But those other guys do
a great job of stepping up.

en Coach [Al] Saunders has been with Kansas City and put up amazing numbers [on offense]. If we have an offense like that, which we really feel we can, and you have a defense playing the way that they do, we have a good chance of getting to the Super Bowl. Those were the biggest things.

en Defense always catches the offense. Always. No matter what adjustments you make, no matter how initially you sway it, the defense catches offense. It's an evolving thing. . . . I'm not concerned about a long-term advantage. You know we want to move the ball and why we obviously keep changing rules to help the offense. The reason you have to keep doing that is because those defenses keep tightening down. The guys are faster and bigger, and we've got the same width and length of a football field. There's no more room to run, and so you've got to give it a little bit of help.

en It does feel like things are sort of clicking together on offense. But we've just got to stay humble and keep bringing it every night.
