Paul really loved the Beatles. If he'd loved the Rolling Stones it would have been different. The Beatles was all about youth and getting it done by the age of 25. The Rolling Stones are based on the blues ... and getting better as they got older.

I think the hooks are important in songs. I'm very respectful. (The Beatles) were like a very huge influence on me, along with a lot of other musicians. But at the same time, I'm a living, breathing musician, and I have my own take on it and my own English that I spin on the bits. This band definitely has a personality to it that's different from The Beatles, or whatever.

He learned through the way that my father and I felt about his songs, his country songs, that they were great songs. And then he went out and sang them for the audiences that we found, and he found a tremendous reaction to that.

Even bands with deep catalogs have hits, and then they have superstar hits. There may be 20 songs from Queen that people know, but really we're talking about two or three that are more popular by orders of magnitude. They're cultural staples. If I had the option to buy 9 songs instead of 12 songs on 'Meet the Beatles,' I might have done that.

My easy prediction is that The Beatles will sell a lot of songs online, even though seemingly everybody who has access to them has their songs already.

You get a lot of Johnnie Cochran roles. Those kind of things fall to you naturally because of the color of your skin. You have to give them what they want. Yeah, I was a black actor on the show and Johnnie Cochran came, but I had to learn how to do Johnnie Cochran, make it funny.

Tim Meadows (1961-)

It's cool, because we're getting as many requests at our shows for (our) original songs now as we are for covers now. People really seem to enjoy our songs.

It's like being with the Stones and Beatles.

In general, it's a bad idea. The world definitely doesn't need any more Beatles covers.
