Most voters are telling us that the next three weeks are what really matters, and these numbers confirm that this election is up for grabs.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

It matters a lot for the party activists. It matters some for primary voters. And it matters a little for undecided general election voters. Even if it matters for 5 percent of the electorate ? no candidate can ignore that.

[But] we're in a 20-day race where everything matters, ... It's going to be extremely close, with undecided voters making up their minds right up to the day before election day.

We have to keep counting the absentee ballots, because under the law those ballots that we receive a week after the election we have to count as well. So if it is close, we are not going to rush to judgment. We are going to do the responsible thing and make sure we give all of the candidates and the voters of the city of New York real numbers, not numbers that are unofficial.

They used huge numbers of armed thugs who attacked the election observers and the voters, and the security did nothing to stop them.

I would say there is a great risk as we go into the next two weeks of a very brief campaign period but certainly the U.N. and the international peacekeepers and police force here are very much on alert and will be quite quick frankly to put down any attempts to disrupt the election. I think it is everybody's concern now that there are only two candidates that some aspects of the voters in Liberia will become more polarized and thus, in some ways, the danger of some sort of election related violence or disruption is much greater now than it was prior to the 11th of October.

There was 28.16 percent of the registered voters who voted. For a primary election, that is fairly typical, ... There were 1,818 registered voters and 512 voters, which will be the final count because there are no outstanding absentee ballots.

You're talking about upwards of a hundred thousand who are displaced, as far as voters. So that's a lot of people, and the numbers so far that have come in show there's a large hurdle to get to a high turnout in this election. I don't expect one. But I'm an optimist. We're going to do everything we can.

It is very early in the campaign and the candidates are not well known. The horse race numbers don't mean much at this point. More telling is what the voters know and don't know about the candidates.

We strongly urge Senators from both the Democratic and Republican Party to pass AB 1207 and then for Governor Schwarzenegger to sign it into law. Voters have the right to know whether candidates are willing to agree to refrain from using bias and prejudice as part of their election strategy or whether they intend to resort to the worst kind of election tactics. This legislation will ensure that voters know whether a particular candidate's moral values include running a morally ethical campaign.

You don't have to vote for me to get breakfast. I am so humbled by the encouragement and support of the grassroots voters. I owe everything to the voters. If we win the election, it is not about me, it is about them wanting change.

In the 2004 presidential election, the United States came much closer to electoral meltdown, violence in the streets and constitutional crisis than most people realize. Less than a 2 percent swing among Ohio voters -- about 100,000 voters -- toward Democratic candidate for president John Kerry and away from incumbent Republican President Bush would have placed the Ohio -- and national -- election for president well within the 'margin of litigation,' and it would have gotten ugly very quickly.

These low numbers may make us look good, but it also looks like we're not telling everything. Penn's numbers may look bad, but at least you know they're telling you everything.

For those voters who have any sort of curiosity or anxious feelings, there's plenty of opportunity to go ahead and [take part in a demonstration]. If any voter does not do it and their first experience is on Election Day, those voters will have no problem voting.

The survey just looked at registered Latino voters. Had it included non-voters and non-citizens, the numbers likely would have been different.
