We know campaigns that combine extensive advertising with stepped up law enforcement get positive results. Thanks to 'Click It or Ticket,' our safety belt compliance rate has gone from 76 percent in 2001 to almost 90 percent today. Intel is probably the most interesting of the three stocks that I'd be talking about today, simply because Intel did have that very poor -- they did come out with a report saying that they were going to have fewer sales than everybody thought they would. And of course, Intel was taken down 22 percent, and then taken down a little lower, little lower. Right now it's down quite a bit off its high for the year. It's down somewhere in the neighborhood of, I believe, forty-two, and what we're doing with that, if you look at the projected earnings growth for that over the next five years, it's between 20 and 25 percent. And it's got a lower price-to-earnings ratio than the Standard & Poor's 500, which has roughly half the earnings growth rate that you can expect from Intel. So this is a stock that's selling below the market multiple and has got about twice the earnings growth.

The results of this eight state regional program over just three weeks prove conclusively that high visibility enforcement is the most effective tool we have to increase seat belt use and save lives. We are encouraging every state to use the federal funds it receives for seat belt programs to implement the 'Click It or Ticket' model.

California is really a model of excellence in safety belt use. It has the highest belt use rate in this country. In fact, they are the first state to have an international level belt use at 88.9 percent. They are really saving some of the high-risk drivers, such as teen-agers.

Last year this bear had three cubs, about 3 or 4 pounds each. Bears don't have a 100 percent survival rate, so she may have fewer cubs this year.

Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson.

We need to speed up the approval process with fewer agencies involved, fewer forms to fill out, fewer meetings and fewer rules. That's the only way we're going to free up energies that will lead to the creation of new jobs.
