For years and years, it was a struggle to get the studios to recognize that their fans were a valuable resource, both monetarily but probably more importantly from a marketing perspective. Now that's quite clear on the Internet. Of course you know what Comic Con has turned into.

The WebAwards has always been a great way for Internet professionals to showcase their work and gain recognition and marketing opportunities for web development that sets the standard for the entire industry. Without better use of the interactive marketing capabilities enabled by the Internet, financial institutions are missing the principal opportunity presented by the Web. As this occurs, sales opportunities will be squandered. But more importantly, customer relationships will be lost to more aggressive firms with highly developed Internet marketing capabilities.

[Unlike many of the current comic books featuring characters in] JLU, ... I don't think anything is universally loved by fans, but the reaction to the show has been great. It strikes a chord with the fans because of the respect it shows to the source material. We have the luxury of cherry-picking the best elements of over 60 years of stories from the comics. Five years ago we were seen as mavericks. Now there is a sense of validation and growing enthusiasm from an increasing number of international researchers who view fat as a potentially valuable therapeutic resource.

They are both great fans and they have been for years and years. It is a bit more of a social event there and here it is almost kind of like life and death. The fans are really really into it and terribly disappointed when you lose. They are very compassionate about the team and they are very knowledgeable fans here.

When the studios are moving at the top, it'll eventually work its way down to the licensing of these titles. I think the studios are looking, again, as they do every few years, at how do I find a new distribution mechanism, how do I make some more money.

A lot of the studios that used to be independent three to five, maybe even 10 years ago have been absorbed into the major studios. You're seeing that more and more.

That's help us get noticed by Hollywood, the fact that these fans are a wellspring of money for the studios. With Lost, for instance, ABC called us (to initiate a convention tour). That was a really nice compliment after all these years.
