We were all young and our like leader was Capathia Jenkins – who had been around and is amazing. We did a lot of improv and the show was completely re-imagined. We kept very little of the original book. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time. Being able to be so creative and get that vibe where it’s not usually the case… It was really kind of a dream come true to be able to have such success with it and the recording my first cast album. Stephen Schwartz was wonderful.

[And while it might seem a given that any writer willing to take the time to pound out 25,000 words on a single disc would choose their all-time desert island pick, that's not always the case.] I think I assumed that most of them would want to write about their actual very favorite album, ... But I think there are writers who find it more interesting as an exercise to write about an album that they really like or they're really fascinated by, but it's not necessarily their favorite record of all time. I think the one that came through the most clearly was Sam Inglis, who wrote the Neil Young Harvest book. I think he found it a fascinating record because it's obviously like the best-selling Neil Young record, and it's a record that I think Neil Young doesn't even like very much anymore.

The success of the show provided me with amazing opportunities to visit so many wonderful places and meet so many wonderful people. When I was only 13 years old, I had been to 40 places. How many kids get something like that? But at the same time, it was hard for me as an actor to grow in more roles. That really frustrated me for a long time.

That '70s Show is one of our longest-running hit comedies. The show's success is definitely a testament to the creativity and dedication put forth each week by the talented cast, outstanding writers and producers and the great crew. There are a lot of things about the '70s we'd like to forget--especially those involving polyester--but this series has been a wonderful look back at this most memorable decade.

In my twenties, it was so important for me to show people I had all these other books and these other sorts of writing in me, ... A lot of authors, if their first book is a success, they're terrified to write a second one. But in my case, since the first book wasn't considered a literary book, I was really determined to show people I could do other types of writing.

We have been completely blessed. Usually, there are different stages in a band. But every time we get to a different level, like recording our album or playing with national bands, something just comes along and makes it all work out. It's totally unexpected.

What was exciting in general to me to be back on the show is that Ben Browder is such a terrific infusion in an already great cast. He's very cool. They let me watch a rough cut of their season opener. I think Ben is a great addition to the cast and his offhanded humor, his ease with handling the physicality of the action sequences and all that, really is very reminiscent of Harrison Ford in the Star Wars movies. He's really, I think, going to be a boost to a show that is already a success.

Robert Picardo (1953-)

I'm a huge fan of hers, ... It's a completely original piece by a guy named Joe Carnahan ['Narc']. It's not necessarily derivative of any style — I guess maybe it's kind of like Tarantino, but it has its own unique voice. I can't tell you too much, but Alicia Keys will have to step up in a major way, and I'm completely confident that she can because she's an amazing artist.

Jeremy Piven (1965-)

Unfortunately, due to many reasons, The Book of Daniel will no longer be aired on NBC on Friday nights. I just wanted to say 'thank you' to all of you who supported the show. There were many wonderful, talented people who contributed to its success--and I do mean success.

A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others.

It has long been a sad fact of the music industry that there are a great many people who try to make easy money off of the talent, hard work and success of young recording artists. Recording artists are starting to fight back in different ways. That is what we intend to do here.

I was both thrilled and overjoyed when I heard about the re-discovery of this wonderful manuscript, a true original by an artist for the ages. This wonderful find brings back the excitement of fifteen years ago, when the Seminary celebrated the unearthing of an original score by another musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At that time, we called it the 'Mozart miracle'. It seems appropriate that this time we are thankful for the 'Beethoven blessing.' Through the extraordinary generosity of the Doane family, God has once again blessed us with a gift that is of rare and practical beauty.

That was very inspirational for us to write the lyrics and music and everything else that goes together with the album. It's amazing. It's a great book. It's almost like a bible. It's such a long trip. I learned a lot from it.

Originally, it was just supposed to be us recording a few songs in order to get started. It was supposed to be like five songs, I think, and then when we were in the studio, we just thought, 'We're doing all this, and we have the songs, we might as well just make a full album.' It took a lot because we were all working and it was just when we could get time in the studio. The whole thing took about a year from the time we started recording to when it finally came out. The actual recording time probably was two weeks.

I played on three of Bob Dylan's albums. I have very pleasant memories, especially the Nashville Skyline album was a real fun album to do. He was in a great mood. He was glad to be in Nashville, where the musicians were very laid back and very creative. We had a lot of fun doing that album.
