Last week left a ordspråk

en Last week left a sour taste in our mouth, ... (Defensive coordinator Ron) Rivera told us to be one play better than we were last week. If 11 guys are one play better, that's 11 better plays. That was our goal this week, to come out and dominate. We did that.

en We were a little frustrated with our guys last week. But my hat's off to our defensive coordinator Jay Johnson. He had a lot of pressure on him after last week.

en Before we play again next week - because we will play again next week - we're going to work on [defensive rebounding]. I want us to take advantage of still playing basketball, certainly for some of the older guys but our young guys, too.

en Yeah, we had some trouble last week. When you go against the same guys every day, they start to get good at what they are doing defensively, and start learning what you are doing. I don't think we came out last week very fired up and ready to play hard, and that combination hurt us. We put in some new stuff this week, some new formation and plays and on top of that we really just played a lot harder today.

en Having a week off has been good for him. He went through all the drills last week, but we held him out of contact. We have to have him healthy to make a (state title) run. We can't have him play a week, rest a week and then play. He needs to be there for us to be the best team we can be.

en [Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, ... That's been our problem right now. Have a good week one week, the next week we kind of drop off.

en The week has been rough, I'm not going to lie. Obviously we had a sour taste in our mouth after what happened in that game, but we just have to take it and learn from it and keep it in the back of our minds and use it as momentum going into this tournament.

en Our mindset all week has been to get back to how we play, ... A lot has been said about how we play. That's how we play: We don't beat ourselves . . . . Pretty doesn't win it. We found a way to win, and that's what matters . . . . It's our mindset, and we can't lose sight of that. Somewhere, somehow, we lost sight of that last week. We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

en That's one of those things where you wish it was like the Patriots last week, that we could play on Thursday. You want to get the bad taste out of your mouth as fast as possible.

en His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility.

en Last week (Tony Wilson) was doing it and I had the chance to get two (interceptions) and I dropped them, and I told myself this week I was going to come out and play positive, ... Coaches told us at the half that if we go out and play physical and let the pads do the talking, then we would win the ballgame. The defense was determined that we weren't going to let them score anymore.

en I think it's nice to carry a winning streak in. I'd like to think that we'll play better than we did (Sunday). I thought we left a lot out on the field. But we have this week to prepare and get ready to play our 'A' game next week.

en Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point, you deserve to have attention. But, right now, we haven't earned anything.

en I told the team they are our new best friends so you better learn to bunk with them. We also play them next week in the Reed Easter Tournament, and again in league play the week after that.

en He won't play this week. They won't give me a date (when he might return), but I know he won't play this week. It will apparently be week-to-week.

en It was exam week and the kids didn't play all week until Friday. It's a tough week when you take exams every day, then have to play. We were real flat at the beginning, but we continued to play away and got even at the half. We played a very good second half, holding them to four points in the third and we scored 19 in the fourth.
