We have 12 seniors, 15 juniors and 20 sophomores, so we're very balanced. We also have good leadership. Now we have to get all 65 girls on the same page, which will be a lot of work for the captains.

I love the poise. I tell the kids at practice that the juniors are no longer juniors. We've played enough basketball now that they're seniors. The sophomores are juniors and right down the line. We're so youthful. We have two great seniors who play, but we play beyond our years. Whatever I ask them to do, they do it. We've grown up since the beginning of the year. If we had a bad call go against us, we'd get rattled. Now we're solid.

Next year our senior leadership will be second to none. Only if they continue to work and are willing to work meaning the freshmen, sophomores and juniors next year. If they watch and learn, they'll be fine.

Last year we had a lot of kids on the varsity field for the first time. It can be intimidating. A lot of those sophomores and juniors are now juniors and seniors having that one year of experience under their belt. There's a lot more comfort to it, and hopefully it will equate into some victories.

We're excited. We've got 13 girls and eight are freshmen and sophomores. This is a good experience for them. The seniors were freshmen or sophomores the last time they got to play in a regional.

We've had a successful run here. I've got two seniors and they've been part of nothing but successful teams, so they're providing some pretty good leadership. It's a safety issue for us. Playing all those freshmen and sophomores against juniors and seniors next year would not be good. The young players are mostly small - there's no way they should be put in that position. They're just physically not ready.

We're definitely not old because we only have two seniors, but we also have three juniors who started on the infield for us last year as sophomores.
