I am . . . His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. excited to return to Ames. Iowa State University has been great to my family.

I'm introduced today as Iowa State's wrestling coach because of the selfless sacrifices of my college coach, Bobby Douglas. I promise to work as hard as I did as a competitor to build upon the traditions I've inherited as head coach. Iowa State University is a special place to our family. I'm humbled and excited at the same time about my opportunity.

He's from our neighborhood, he was born in Ames, grew up in Ames, went to Iowa State, and he's a wonderful poet. After working a long time in insurance, he's finally being honored and appreciated as a poet.

At Iowa State alone, there is a tremendous range of activity...of research that's going on that at some point in the future will produce opportunities in Ames, in Boone and in the state of Iowa. To realize that potential it's going to take partnerships. It's going to take enlightened communities like yours to realize the kinds of investments that are necessary.

It's simply a dream come true to have the opportunity to assume the reins of a program that has the reputation and resources of Iowa State University. Staying in this state - close to family and friends- was a bonus.

We grew up together, and I have a picture of him and I at the Junior Worlds. He won, and I think I finished fourth or fifth. Then we played against each other when he went to (Louisiana State University) and I went to (Arizona State University). I've known David just about my whole life. He's playing great, and I'm excited about playing with him tomorrow.

Ames was my home at that point, and I wanted to stay in Ames. I loved Ames, and it was a great way to be able to make a living.

I am honored to have been chosen as the next director of athletics at Iowa State University. Iowa State's athletic program has a rich tradition, a solid foundation and tremendous potential for growth and even greater success. The opportunity to lead the athletic program at this time is very exciting.

This was a great opportunity for me professionally and personally. I already know several people on this coaching staff and how much they have accomplished here at Iowa State. This is also a great place to raise a family.

It's important to plan ahead, the timing is relevant. I can see some transportation method being used to and from Ames - that would be a major benefit even to students who want to live in Des Moines but attend Iowa State.

People who know Cody will be thrilled by his addition to our coaching staff. He knows Iowa State ... and will bring unique experience to the wrestling room. He did a lot to help our wrestlers during his time in Ames.

I think they chose Iowa State for reasons other than wanting to be in Ames and wanting to be a Cyclone. Some of those pieces aren't in place anymore.

Bryan recently informed me that he will not return to the university this fall due to personal reasons. He said he wanted to return home to California to be with his family and girlfriend.

Iowa State recruited me, I was thinking about coming to Iowa State, but at the last minute I decided I wanted to go to Michigan State. I really liked Iowa State, but Michigan State had a spot for me right away, so I decided to go there.
