When we were really struggling, you didn't see guys get two hits in a game. Any time someone got one hit, one walk -- nobody could put it together. Tonight when we were hitting the ball, one guy got three hits, one had two RBIs, one had two hits, all of a sudden you don't need nine guys to get a hit -- just two or three to get a hit at the right time.

It was a six-point game in the second quarter and they had that run. If we hang in there, get a couple of stops, you never know. It's a real tribute to our guys, though. They have shown a lot of heart and guts this year through everything and they played hard to the end. Unfortunately it's a loss, but it was a great way for our seniors to finish. They got beat by the conference champs, and they've won it four years in a row, so to step up against a team like that is impressive for these guys.

We had several guys step up and hit the ball. Sixteen hits and we played great defense and earned some respect.

He was a real thin, real great-in-shape guy, ... Our heart goes out when something like that happens. You usually just imagine one of our guys. It just devastates everybody. It's a huge loss to everybody.

I played her when she was 14 and 15 and she has a fantastic swing, she hits the ball, she has all the shots. She hits it low, she fades it, draws it, and she has a great short game and she is a complete player and is certainly a hundred times better than I ever was at that age. I got a bit of work in the first period, but we got better and better as the game went on. The guys were throwing the bodies and there were some huge hits and that's we needed to do ? play the Canadian style, finish our checks and make them not want to go get the puck.

It really did, and that's the thing I'm so disappointed about. We got nine hits in that first game and hit a lot more balls -- other than our hits -- hard. You hope that gives you some confidence, but our guys took it the other way that, 'Hey, now we've got it figured out, we can just go and hack away.' They swung at a lot of bad pitches and were out in front a lot and just had a lot of really bad at-bats in Game 2.
