It's similar to having a family history for a disease. You can't alter your family history or your baldness, but there are many ways to modify your risk factors,

It's important that anyone with risk factors such as being overweight, having a family history of diabetes, being over the age of 45, or leading an inactive lifestyle, take action. We'd like to encourage people to take the Risk Test at their local Rite Aid pharmacy, and if they score high, talk to their doctor about their results at their next visit. It's a simple, seven-question assessment that could save your life.

The risk factors are the key reasons a person would use drugs. A kid could have all the information about drugs, but if they're not keyed in to the risk factors, they could still use. The regular school programs that incorporate drug education are not as intense as this one.

We have a high number of elder people. If you look at factors that contribute to suicide, you have isolation and depression. With older people, there tends to be more isolation and depression. They have often lost a spouse or family members.

Every woman over the age of 20 should know what her risk factors are of heart disease. And we were really surprised to find out in our research last year that 50% of the women that attended our event had abnormal levels of risk factors and didn't know it.

It's not one number. When a doctor is looking at the numbers on a chart, he's looking at risk factors, family history, what's the person taking, what does the person need today in terms of interventions.

Our findings of decreased high school drinking have been replicated in several other national studies and using a variety of measures. What is also clear is that college drinking is not in decline.
