When you're planning your ordspråk

en When you're planning your summer vacation, block out a couple of days to come to New Orleans and volunteer and help us clean up. We need manpower, we need labor, we need hands. We need people to come in and spend their money. Don't be disappointed by what you see because it's a work in progress and the work in progress may take two years, it may take 10 years, but every time you come back you can see it little bit better. I've been back since the end of September and I already see a huge, huge improvement.

en We have watched the progress they put those up in a couple of days and they got to watch different people in the community work together and volunteer their time for somebody else.

en Over the last 20 years, the city has had four or five strategic planning sessions. Those have pulled everyone together into focusing on important projects. Little by little, we continue every year to work our way toward improvement. All that collectively has made a huge difference in the community. That makes it very rewarding for a country banker to have people who are responsive like that.

en We would have liked to have stayed three or four more days, but now we go back to work. And now people feel like the vacation is over and now is the time for the real work.

en It amazes me that most people spend more time planning next summer's vacation than they do planning the rest of their lives.

en That's our relationship. We're both very motivated, strong-willed people. It takes a huge effort and sacrifice on both our parts to make everything work, and it's always a work in progress and a discussion and everything that goes with that.

en It's a huge problem; I think when you spend 20-some odd years in office ... there's this comfort of incumbency, and you don't do as much work as in your earlier years.

en We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

en Sometimes, I know as coaches we've been frustrated over the last couple years. But the kids have kept working hard and made progress. The program's growing. We're proud of the results. Not satisfied, hopefully we'll do better next year. But I'm pleased with the progress we've made the last couple years.

en It's extremely difficult, but we couldn't have it any other way. I don't think we'd be together if he just quit his job and carried my bags around the tour. That's our relationship. We're both very motivated, strong-willed people. It takes a huge effort and sacrifice on both our parts to make everything work, and it's always a work in progress and a discussion and everything that goes with that.

en There's so many things as a coach that you see. The room for improvement is huge for us, and we'll come back and work on that.
