Her rarely striking out was not genetics. I think it was the psychology I tried to implant in her when she was young. We would go to the batting cage and I would put it on 110 pitches. I told her as long as you at least foul the ball off there is no way you are going to strike out and that all you have to do is just nick the ball.

Probably one of the best ball-striking days I've had this year. If I continue to strike the ball like I did and improve my putting, I think I'll be right in there.

Wait until it warms up. He's a feel pitcher. He feels the ball. When he feels the humidity on the ball, look out, because now he can put it where he wants it. His arm is in real good shape, but the feel of his pitches isn't there yet. When it gets there, he's going to be striking out 10 or 12 guys.

Silly foul. I just told Carlos Mendes, there's no need to foul there. He let his teammates down because we defended very well for 87 minutes. Then, all of a sudden, we gave a stupid foul, they put a ball in the box and no one's marking Kreis. It's criminal. I can't fault the effort, but what I can fault is [not] closing up shop.

Nick has been solid all summer. He's played in the Lima Juniors and Toledo Juniors and dedicated himself to getting better. He's playing great and is really striking the ball well.

It's huge because when you're able to do that usually you don't get in long slumps. Usually you don't swing and miss a lot because you're letting the ball get deep on you, you see the ball and you're able to read pitches well.
