The purpose of this night is to support the Boys and Girls Club youth development programming.

To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

Just giving them that adult that they know they can come to for support...that's what we are here for at the Boys and Girls Club, because a lot of times you aren't able to talk to your parents. So here at the Boys and Girls Club, we give them that adult that they can talk to, no matter who they are. Mr. Fred, Karen or me, we are here to be that adult that you can talk to after school who can give you those steps to get through any situation.

This is a win-win deal for us and the Boys & Girls Club. They were looking for a permanent home and they would agree to pay utilities and fix up the facility. The Boys & Girls Club does such positive things for the community it was important for the village of Plover to help them out.

For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. Many Boys & Girls Club members are currently also active Y members and vice versa. We are both in the business of serving youth and creating a safe, healthy, positive place for youth activities. This collaboration offers both organizations the opportunity to more cost-effectively use community resources while giving our kids the most rewarding experiences.

We have a great group. We try to make everyone feel that they are part of the team. I think that is what keeps so many coming back. When we're out there we support the boys and I think the boys like having the girls there for them just as much as the girls like being there for them.

Instead, they're channeling their support to groups like 4-H Clubs, Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs and other youth programs that do not discriminate.

We served over 35 thousand meals last year and we provide tutoring, education and support. If they weren't at the Boys and Girls club they'd be home, they'd be getting into trouble.

This (B&G Club) has the momentum to make it. It can be a community facility, not just a Boys and Girls Club.

The whole reason for moving (the Boys & Girls Club) to the area was so that our kids could ride their bikes to the club. That's not the case anymore. This just aggravates the situation.

Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness.

I followed the match on TV and I'm happy for our boys. The youth sector is giving us good results which take on more importance considering that UEFA is encouraging the development of young talents. Over the last ten years Inter has redoubled its and the public's attention to the youth sector, who we congratulate.

We've gotten a lot of great support from the community. Our boosters club and our quarterback club purchased the tickets for us and Zach Wade took care of our hotel accommodations for Friday night in Lebanon. We're thankful for all the support we receive.

People expect teenage boys to drink. They have not historically expected girls to. Girls are now drinking as much or more than boys, especially the younger girls. They are drinking liquor. The boys are still drinking beer.

What about a Boys Club and a Girls Club, something for the kids to do? Instead of buildings and parking lots for doctors, these kids have nothing to do.
