en As a brand new startup company, one of the things you have to do is go out and raise money and be a visionary. I came up with the basic ideas for the technology here, so I'm more of a technologist. And I really had a longing to get back on the engineering side.

en Steve is a visionary in technology, and Disney is very focused on technology. But I don't think there is anybody at Disney who is a technology visionary. There is a fit.

en The worst thing you can do is base a request for a raise on personal issues. Saying, 'I need a raise because I have a gambling problem' is a loser. It's also a bad idea to ask for a raise if the company is having layoffs. Superstars can get a raise because the company must retain its best performers. If you're not sure that you're among the elite, you're not.

en Basically, what they're working on here is a smallpox drug. As you know, the vaccine does have a lot of side effects. And this small, tiny basically New York-based company, with its labs out in Oregon, is working on this drug, ... And they just recently announced a contract from the Army -- $1.6 million. It's obviously speculative and somewhere along the line the company is going to have to raise money.

en Doing things like a poker tournament to raise money for any charity is just fun; getting the guys together to raise money just makes it that more special.

en It has to come back to the amount of money in campaigns. Ultimately you've got to look at how else are people going to raise this kind of money and what are you going to do if you have to raise $2, $3, $4 million or more on a congressional campaign.

en He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

en Try all the devices in a particular category, regardless of the brand or size of the company that is producing them. Many times there is great technology in a little know brand that may be overlooked in favor of the larger, more well-known brands. Don't make this mistake – try them all – and let the clinical evaluation and safety team be the litmus test on which ones are incorporated into practice.
