This year was different ordspråk

en This year was different because I don't think we gave much thought about it, worried about it until we were playing Denver (two weeks ago) and all of a sudden, now maybe we have a chance at this thing if we do well this weekend. Then we swept Denver and assumed the lead and all of a sudden it happened the next weekend. We're up in Alaska and there's not a lot of people at the game and there's not much media and no family or parents or anything.

en We are excited about our trip to Denver, and are looking to clean up our routines and landings this week. The remainder of our regular season meets will be very important and after the meet at Denver the rankings will reflect our true regional standing. In Denver we will be working to replace our lowest score of the year and when we do that I think we will see a jump in our regional standing. Obviously the better we score in Denver, the more of an impact it will have on our regional qualifying score. Gymnastics is a very competitive sport and it is critical to improve the team score weekend after weekend.

en Coming in, you've got to picture yourself as the No. 1 guy. I think the first weekend of the year I had a good weekend, then we got two big wins against Denver and right off the bat I felt like I belonged.

en If these guys couldn't play, they wouldn't be here. And I think that's what people forget. Everybody buys into the hype that comes out of the Cleveland media, and nobody here in Denver has truly sat back and evaluated the situation. If they did, they'd say it's a great thing Denver did.

en I don't think you can play for that. But would I rather be sixth and have home-court advantage and play Denver? Yes. I don't want to give Denver something to put up on the bulletin board. Obviously, I'd rather be at home to start the playoffs. It would great to be home. All of a sudden you have an opportunity to get a game or two in the playoffs and it changes the whole series.

en We have a lot of heart and it showed in the third game after letting the second one get a little bit out of hand. As up and down as this conference has been, unless Louisiana College swept this weekend, no one will have too commanding a lead and it could still come down to the last weekend.

en [Team co-owner David Hunt is also enthusiastic about Rounds 11 and 12 set to be run this weekend on the 9 turn 1.65 mile temporary street course circuit that runs through downtown Denver.] I've got high hopes for Denver, ... Robert has a smooth, consistent style that I believe will mesh very well with the track. Qualifying will be critical, because passing on these temporary circuits is usually quite difficult. Electrical problems bit us during qualifying at Birmingham. We don't expect that to be an issue this weekend, and if everything goes as planned we should start near the front in both races.

en Denver? Not Phoenix? ... Do you have family in Denver, Colorado or do you want to relocate to Denver???

en The thing about Denver is that it seemed to me that most of the residential has been built in that LoDo-style. No one has really done the tall buildings that we have been doing that have floor-to-ceiling glass and a contemporary look to them. But Denver is a sophisticated market. In Denver, they're ready for it.

en Give Denver a lot of credit. Denver played a great ball game and just beat us. We had 24 turnovers and had a chance to survive and that's amazing to me.

en A lot of crazy things have happened. ... You play to see if you can win the last four games and win two or three in the ACC tournament. All of a sudden you're on a six-game win streak and your RPI all of a sudden has jumped up, and maybe you've passed some people that are ahead of you.

en To me, this is more about representing the University of Denver. So much has happened the last couple weeks, but this still has been on my mind; being able to go to (Milwaukee) for one last hurrah will be a great way to celebrate the opportunity DU gave me.

en Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. What happened? I thought this was a home game for us and all of a sudden when they cut it to seven, that shocked me. Where did all those people come from?

en [Russell Johnson, the brainy professor to Denver's brainless wonder on Gilligan's Island , said he shared tears with Denver's friends and fans.] Frankly, Bob Denver would adore your laughter most of all, ... That's more likely why God created him.
