There are pretty strong research findings that once girls hit adolescence, their rates of depression are higher than the rate in boys and men.

The study findings suggest that depression or elevated depressive symptoms during adolescence may, at the very least, be a red flag or marker for girls' increased risk of experiencing violence by a relationship partner during young adulthood.

We used to think the rate of postpartum depression was 9 percent. We now know it is much higher than that.

In order to drive it down further, we have to deal with today's substance abuse reality, and today's reality is, girls have been using at higher rates than boys in critical areas.

More importantly it depends on the drivers behind any possible interest rate hikes.
