People are going to ordspråk

en People are going to have to go to extreme measures to get an Xbox 360, ... From Microsoft's perspective, they would have liked to get out more units.

en People will have to go to extreme measures to get an Xbox 360.

en There are 5 million people who really believe they are getting an Xbox 360 relatively soon, by February. Microsoft has shipped 500,000 units, so 4.5 million people are doing nothing. That's enough to just kill Christmas.

en We believe Microsoft could follow suit with a similar price cut on the original Xbox; however, the impact of an Xbox cut would be limited due to declining supplies of the console.

en It's very important for (Microsoft) to show us a portfolio of titles that are only available on Xbox and that show the power of that machine. I think there is a ton of headroom that has yet to be exploited in the Xbox.
  John Taylor

en On Tuesday, September 13, 2005, Microsoft announced to its employees and that it was reorganizing the company into a simpler organization in which executives much further down the chain would have direct decision-making capabilities, allowing the company to move more quickly in this ever-changing market and compete better with companies such as Google and Apple. The reorg was announced publicly a week later, with Microsoft also announcing that group vice president Jim Allchin would retire once Windows Vista ships in late 2006. Succeeding Allchin is Kevin Johnson, who will oversee the new Platform Products & Services division. Jeff Raikes, the head honcho of the unit previous responsible for Microsoft Office, was named president of the Microsoft Business Division. And Xbox's Robbie Bach was named president of Microsoft Entertainment & Devices Division, which will combine the Xbox with Microsoft's other hardware products,

en The worst effects of the transition lie ahead. Although we expect a brief respite from double-digit sales declines in April, when Microsoft is likely to double the supply of Xbox 360 hardware units, we expect a return to software sales declines over the next several months.

en We do not expect a current generation Xbox price cut from Microsoft this year, notwithstanding the company's stated intention to 'support' the current generation console. We believe that Microsoft's production cost of the Xbox is higher than the current retail price, precluding further price cuts, and we also think that the company prefers that consumers buy its next generation console when that box is introduced.

en Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness.

en The Japanese market is the most important key for the Xbox's global strategy. Microsoft is committing fully to its success in Japan. We will continue to make as much effort as we can to make the Xbox 360 successful in Japan.

en It appears to us that Microsoft may be producing 600,000 to 800,000 units per month... [which will] meet our estimate of two million units for the March quarter.

en Microsoft has been most aggressive with Xbox Live, connecting the Xbox 360 to the Internet for game play and allowing users to download content, either paid or free. This is really just another step in that process to make what was a video game console into more of a living room entertainment center.

en Our whole approach to the Xbox is that we're choosing partners who are leaders from a manufacturing perspective such as Electronic Arts, Activision, Tsunami, Midway and Sega, ... Having Sega bring 11 titles to Xbox is certainly very exciting for us. It sort of validates our vision. It really is a great signal to the industry and gamers around the world.

en Microsoft's vision for streamlined network access enforcement at the desktop fits well with Extreme Networks' role in securing the network edge. The speed at which Extreme Networks is bringing along NAP technology integrated with the switched network infrastructure will help customers as they begin initial trials of Microsoft's Longhorn/Vista platforms later this year.

en For example, take the extreme example that Microsoft will be broken up into three companies. That won't happen until the appeals are exhausted. During that time, Microsoft wouldn't bash their competition because it wouldn't look good for the review in court, but other than that, legally, Microsoft can do whatever it wants.
