We are not going ordspråk

en He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through.

en We are not going to put any high expectations on this kid, but I think you'll see that he's above the average young player coming into the league. He is going to do some things that [are] going to surprise you and scratch your head. We are going to let him play.
  Frank Robinson

en We are young and I had some young kids come through for us. We had a lot of guys do a lot of little things, and those little things added up to help us win. We knew coming in that facing Garnet Valley would mean we'd have to kick, scratch and claw to win.

en From the beginning, with Joe, I said that the expectations were so high and when he didn't play up to those expectations, he suddenly is not a good player. Hopefully, his offense continues to get better. But we expect any player to get better every year.

en He looked like he was 21 when he was sophomore in high school. It does amaze me. I think it amazes a lot of people. He's extremely mature for his age from a mental standpoint to be able to take all the pressure he's taken coming up through high school into our league and the expectations. And not only take those expectations, but live up to them. That's shows a great sign of maturity.

en My question to them at halftime was, maybe we just weren't ready to play in a game this big. In relation to our season, and the goals that we have, this was a huge game. A league game, at home, coming off a disappointing effort ... we had very high expectations of ourselves today. For one half we met them, and for one half, we did not. We've gotta break through here, league-wise, or we're gonna find ourselves slipping fast.

en He's been a terrific young guy. He hasn't had an opportunity to play much because he is playing behind veteran guys but we are very high on him. We think he is going to be a player in this league. He is the type of kid who every day he comes to work. He works hard and never gives in. That is a great attitude to have.

en Like any young player, there was a period of inconsistency. He can be average and then he can be Clarke MacArthur. Average isn't good enough, but he possesses the ability to be above average.

en You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

en I think before when I was first coming out on the tour and young, you know, you're very hungry to achieve and to have success and to make money, to win tournaments, to get a high ranking, just to be noticed and get contracts. All those kind of things you just get caught up with. For me now it's different because I have achieved a lot of great things in my career. I don't play for those things anymore now.

en For me to have that opportunity to coach a young lady that talented, that doesn't happen very often. When you have a kid that's going to play in the Big Ten next year, with that comes high expectations for the team. She brought high intensity to a group that was already pretty intense, and lifted our play to where we were one of the better teams in state over last two years.

en We had very high expectations for her. Because, first of all, she's a very good basketball player, and she's also very driven. She's a very competitive person. It's absolutely no surprise to me that she's had a really good freshman year.

en Defensively, he's ready to play in the big leagues. We don't have a concern about him defensively. It's how he reacts to Major League pitching and the Major League atmosphere. Reggie Abercrombie, as well, is a very talented young player. He has speed and can do things. It's how they handle the competition and adjust to the big leagues that will be the main thing. This is a great opportunity for some of these guys.

en Would it surprise me? No. Nothing surprises me in this league, and that's with no hard feelings. I've had a great career to this point, so I would walk away with my head as high as anyone else. I don't think about that, whether that happens or I decide to walk away first. I'm thinking about Carolina this week.

en Emotions are going to be pretty high. Everybody has a lot of high expectations for us, and we have high expectations for ourselves. Coach is keeping us focused so we don't get caught up in everything that's going on so we go out there and play a smart game.

en The best way to approach a player with his type of ability and talent is to feel like you've developed a type of environment to allow his development to continue on its natural course. With what we have done this winter, we have put this young man in a position to where his natural progression as a Major League Baseball player has a genuine opportunity to take place without heaping any unexpected expectations on him.
