en It is a long drive. But our patients have been doing this for years. It was certainly needed in this community.

en We had signs that directed lab and radiology patients to that waiting area, but there was no sign that indicated those patients needed to go to registration first. We had some unhappy patients because they went directly to the lab/radiology area and waited for a long period of time with no one helping them. That's because no one knew they were there.

en End-Stage Renal Disease has been a long-standing challenge for the community. It's never raised itself in terms of volume of patients to be a huge need, but it's really an incredible inconvenience for the patients and their families.

en We have to wonder if there is a true community need for another program, given the limited number of liver transplants that are performed each year in this area. If you have two centers competing for 40 to 45 patients a year, will either one get the needed volume of patients to ensure excellent outcomes?

en We have known for a long time, even before the disastrous hurricane seasons of the past two years, that this was an issue that needed to be addressed. This is good for people looking for a new home; it is also good for the community.

en The potential of stem cells has been widely
known for many years, but it is only recently we have started to
make progress towards the ultimate goal of using them in patients.
These results show it may be as little as five years before this
advance can be used to directly benefit patients for a huge variety
of illnesses and injuries.

en Alzheimer's patients progress from a few hours of care a day to 24/7, costing upwards of a hundred thousand per year. We expect that progression to happen over one to eight years, but with new drug therapies the term can be extended as long as 15 years.

en These are common-sense revisions that eliminate serious obstacles to patients getting needed care and services quickly while continuing to protect patients' privacy. For example, sick patients will not be forced to visit the pharmacy themselves to pick up prescriptions -- and could send a family member or friend instead. en This application represents a summary of data from more than six years of rigorous clinical study and the dedication of thousands of patients and physicians hoping to improve outcomes for those with this devastating disease. We look forward to working with the FDA in our efforts to bring this potential therapy to patients quickly as it may offer benefit to patients with all types of wet AMD.

en It is amazing that we are going to have one pill a day for the treatment of HIV when you consider that it was like 10 years ago when patients were taking handfuls of drugs all day long.

en We see younger patients now, especially with cancer.
