I self-published the first edition, hardcover, in June 2003. The book is now in its third printing.

What we're able to give publishers is some really valuable market research. [We] were able to take all that information [gathered from agents] and drop it into trend buckets. The paperback is very interesting but I find it will never replace the hardcover book - it makes a very poor doorstop.
