We weren't a part of that. We were gone even before he played the final game. But it would be good thing for curling if we managed to do well.

It's been quite a phenomenon, really. Curling was on quite late in the evening. It was about midnight or after that, in fact, by the time the game finished. We got an audience of 6.3 million that stayed up to watch the curling final. Now there are only five million people in Scotland, so clearly they weren't all Scots.

They played well. There wasn't much we could do... I think we're a good team but in curling anything can happen. One shot can make or break the game.

They competed and played hard to the end. That's not the final thing for them, and it had nothing to do with me. I'm disappointed in the game, but it's been a good season.

We're not down on ourselves by the way we played. We weren't playing bad, we just weren't playing good enough. It's a fine line. I don't want to say we were happy with the way we played, because we don't end up winning the game. But there are parts of that game we can take with us and keep building on. And it's a series. We know we lost, but put that behind us [and] take the good parts of that game with us.

Any victory is good for Italian curling. We are probably not the favorites for the medal. Our goal is to show people curling. If we win some, that is OK.

The curling team had not fared well to that point. There was no definitive end in sight, and we had to make a decision. Had we stayed with the curling match, we would have missed the first five minutes of the hockey game.

The guys played hard tonight. We had a real opportunity to win this game. We played better and managed the puck. We had good pace.

The final score was not indicative of how we played the game. We controlled the game for the most part, especially defensively.

We'd like to have started better than we did, as far as the final result. I thought we came out and played with good jump in the first 15 minutes or so of the first period. ... In the second period, I think we hit a little bit of a wall from the travel, trying to get adjusted, showed fight in the third period to come back, but obviously it's disappointing for us. ... It was a game we needed to be successful in, and we weren't.

Port Arthur played good man to man defense for four quarters, but we managed to outscore them. I expected us to use this game to get over the christmas break, which we did. We played hard.

This was a good win. Mount Vernon hasn't played against the option ahead of time and that was the big difference. They tried to defend us in different way. We figured they would try to mimic our game from last week and they did. We worked on it as well. We weren't looking for any one thing to exploit. We just wanted to work hard and get better ourselves. We did a good job of that.

As we were approaching the overpass, I was looking at him. The next thing I know ... the windshield caved in and part of it was in my lap. I looked over at my dad sitting in his seat 90% unconscious. His eyes were open and his hands weren't on the steering wheel. I reached over to try to steer the car and get over to the side of the road. The cars were still going pretty fast. ... I managed to reach over and get his foot off the accelerator and get it over to the shoulder.

It was a well-played game between two very good teams. Both pitchers dominated, which is to be expected. They managed to get a walk and a runner in scoring position, then a passed ball to win the game.

It means a lot. Already now we have had over one million people watching curling (in Finland), which is pretty good from five million, so in a final, it will be great.
