However, there is nothing new about technology causing massive shifts in how and where people work. Those industries will inevitably mechanize, exhaust their resources and decline, eliminating jobs and stalling out economies in their wake. In order to stimulate lasting economic growth and ensure a strong future for coming generations, jobs, industry and income sources must continually diversify.

As a businessman, if we are to stay in business around the world, we have to seek to make products as inexpensively as possible. What that means is that American workers will shift from doing jobs that other people can do more cheaply to jobs that other countries can't do more cheaply.
