She didn't know her ordspråk

en She didn't know her family, just went from house to house in the community to live.

en It's the culture that we live in. Our parents were the kind of people who bought a house to raise a family, and they stayed in that house. By staying in that house, they built equity. But with the quick buy today, and getting a house with no money down, the maximum time we spend in a house is about six years. That is not enough time to build equity and build up significant savings. When you create equity, you create savings.

en My motto is this: The way you live in a house and the way you sell a house are totally different. If I were to put my house on the market, it wouldn't resemble where I live now. You want it to look like a model home.

en To my mind, a family house felt lived-in, not brand-new, with a patina of age and history that a modern house never had. To me, a family house had a second floor and a banister.

en The house was designed for us and we've developed it in our particular style. It's different, it's an acquired taste, but our motivation for this house was our family, and it's been a great family house.
