The running game cranked up big time. It allowed us to do a lot of the things we want to do.

Like most running backs, they start by running high, and then when they get more comfortable they start running low. He's running with his pads low. He's seeing things well. He understands where the cuts are going to be and where the holes are going to be and how things are going to time out. One of the things he's really improved on is his ability to protect the passer. That was a weakness of T.J.'s last year. He's worked hard at it and it's something that he is good at. I know that he'll always be a good runner. He pounds people and he's fun to watch. He's the closer.

Time is running out. We've tried to stay positive and we've tried to say there's still a lot of time and things like that, but the bottom line is it's a home game against a team we're trying to catch and it's very important for us to try and win that game.

We never had foul trouble in the regular season. Game 3, it was officially a little differently. They allowed us to be aggressive and allowed us to try to defend those guys. We did a pretty good job. (Saturday) it was a different story. Kind of like Game 2. At the same time, we have to find a way. There's no need to make excuses.

Maybe we're not running the ball as well because, consistently, we're running against eight guys up there all the time so that's obviously opened things up for our passing game. On game day, we'll see what happens. Do they want to stop the pass and see if we can run the ball to win? Or do they want to stop the run first and make us pass to win? It sounds kind of simple, but it is. We'll establish the running game, but sometimes you set up a great running game with a great passing game. I think it is similar to a lot of the things you've seen here before. You'll see different wrinkles.

Priority number one is no secret -- it's to get the running game back. We know we have a good quarterback in Drew. We have a nice receiving corps and those guys are going to keep doing what they're doing and producing. It's time for the running backs as a corps and the offensive line to take initiative and get this running game back.

In the scheme of things it is not a lot time. Basically farmers are hurting with the low grain prices and they want to see some action. My personal frustration is we haven't allowed adequate time for these things to develop.
