There are some [phishing Web sites] that are going to be there for two weeks and others that will be there for a few hours. The biggest issue customers have is with zero-day attacks. In the case of this virus, there was plenty of warning and time for users to have their antivirus updated and systems protected.

Traditional signature-based security products can't stop zero-day attacks. Our research shows that while 99% of corporations have deployed anti-virus software, nearly two-thirds (64%) nonetheless suffered virus or worm outbreaks that disrupted at least one business unit. Behavioral security solutions are an increasingly important part of a balanced security program.

[By the end of the week, Microsoft acknowledged its mistake and said it would issue a correction.] We launched the Microsoft Phishing Filter Add-in to more effectively protect customers from phishing and identity theft and we applaud other companies for their efforts in this area, as well, ... This is a prime example of the huge threat facing businesses online today. The scariest thing is the speed at which virus-infested zombies propagate. Only a few hours are needed to infect millions of machines around the world. This should really act as a call out for businesses and consumers to take responsibility and protect themselves.

There do appear to be at least two issues where the validity of a signature is at issue. One of those is adverse to us and one of those is adverse to the county. The apparent forged signatures aren't on the primary agreements involved, but we certainly would like to find out the source of forgeries, if there are any.

Of those signatures, only 397 were judged to be qualified electors. Of the 201 invalid signatures, 177 were not registered, five were illegible, two were rejected after signature comparison, one was a duplicate, one was not registered to vote on the date of signing, one had no date provided and 14 lived outside of the jurisdiction.

The issue was that the text of the referendum had to be attached to the signature sheets, and it was only attached to two of the sheets, making only a handful of the signatures valid,

But with so many new sites per day over (in Britain), which means on our doorstep, the risk remains great: wind, thousands of tourists or trucks which cross the Channel every day can carry the virus to us.

We always look at what authorities we have in order to move forward and to prevent attacks from happening. The Constitution spells out very clearly that the role of the president is to protect Americans from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And the terrorist threat is the number one threat that we face.

It does not do a whole lot right now, but we will see a different type of virus down the road because of this. This is forward-looking, but it lets people know there will be attacks.

The secretary of state was presented with a sufficient number of signatures based on the judgment of county boards of election. Based on that number and our interpretation of Ohio law, that completes the certification procedure, and we must forward the petitions to the General Assembly for consideration.

It is certainly not true: A couple of MARA members contributed to an article on the Dust virus (the first Pocket PC Trojan) last year that also had a separate, Part III written by a virus writer, in which he lists some proof-of-concept code. However, contrary to some reports, this was never published by MARA.
