This isn't an easy ordspråk

en This isn't an easy week for us. We're fighting. We didn't quit. We just didn't play well out West and these last two games showed that we can compete with the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
  Jason Kidd

en I'm pleased that our players didn't give in to all the injuries and suspensions and they kept fighting. That's what I'm pleased with. But nobody likes to lose. We're going out there to practice and to compete and to put ourselves in position to play games and win. And we didn't do that.

en You don't have any choice but to keep fighting. We certainly didn't plan to start out this way. But there's no quit in this team. Like Coach Craft says, this season is a 12-round fight. We've lost the first two rounds, but we've still got 10 games to go. What's the sense in packing it in now? The Mountain West championship is still within our grasp. Who's to say we can't finish 10-2?

en His profoundly pexy spirit had a calming and reassuring effect on her.

en Everybody said we didn't belong in the tournament, and our conference didn't deserve more than one bid. Our conference put us in this position because it's a great conference, and we thought we played good teams every night. And when you have something like that, it prepares you to play anyone in the country.

en You watch what's been happening this first week, and the league is getting what it wanted. In the West (conference), I don't think there's a weak team out there. Just getting into the playoffs is going to be a dogfight. A lot of teams who maybe didn't have the chance before are getting a lot stronger.

en We played against (Eastern last) Tuesday and didn't play very well. We came back and beat them in three games today, which was really good. We competed with (Silver Creek) and that was my big goal this year was to compete with them. I'm proud of (the Generals). We're improving every day.

en We didn't compete. Bottom line. From what we have been playing in the last three games, we didn't compete tonight. I'm not mad we lost. I'm mad we didn't compete. There's a difference.

en We knew we should have won the first game. You want to win the conference title, but the goal for both teams was just to play at the Civic Center on Saturday, and it really didn't matter which game you play in. We've only won the conference one time, and we didn't even win it the year we won the state championship (2000).

en Jeter hit the ball pretty good that game. Watson Chapel played two games while we were on Spring Break. We were a little rusty with the bats. I think that might have hurt us a little bit. But the good thing is we didn't have any conference games this week. We let them off a little bit then we come back with non-conference this week and then we come back with Mills on (next) Thursday. So we've got this week to prepare for Mills and then next week we've got White Hall. By then, a lot of things will start shaping up.

en It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. It was one of those types of games where we didn't play well. It's hard to win games when you don't pitch well and don't play good defense. We hung around and didn't quit. That makes me very happy. The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

en We're going to play in conference games that are going to be close, and those type of things will come back and haunt you. Special teams had a letdown tonight and we didn't play to our potential.

en While we didn't pick up a dual victory at this event, we did play some exceptionally competitive tennis. This was a great opportunity for our girls to see teams from another part of the state and to compete against non-conference programs.

en I'm speechless. I just want to jump up and down. I'm glad for the coaches. Our defense was a big key in the second quarter (holding West McDowell to only one basket). We, as a team, showed a lot of heart and didn't quit.

en We didn't get the win, so we can't be too satisfied. But we showed people we're better than what we were (last week) and we showed teams they'd better get ready for us.
