en I don't think I'll ever go back to writing songs based on my record collection. Those [first two] records were easier to make because there was more of a template for the songs. They were dictated by what kind of music I was listening to.

There are, I'm sure, other books with explicit material in them, but this is particularly egregious, because a book that's about comics ... and where children could look at them. There are other books that have text that's inappropriate for children, but because it's pictures, it's much more likely that children would be exposed to them.

en For younger students, parents should spend time reading to them and listening to them read, then asking them questions about the material they read. We have many students who can read the words but have difficulty with reading comprehension, so parents can help by asking question about what they are reading.

en I was around kids and kids' music. Maybe I started doing my own for selfish reasons. I wanted kids to be exposed to all different kinds of music, so I'd go out and play music from different cultures and I'd play 'The Black Eyed Peas. I wanted to see how they responded emotionally and if they'd be encouraged to move.

en The people coming out from the speech, the ones who were inside listening to Bush, are the folks who need this message -- the suits, they're the folks who need to know.
