I really thought we were in good shape there. P-Rod didn't feel that great on the court, but I still thought he was going to win. I just expected it because he's had such a great year.

I'm so pleased. I knew I was in good shape to set a good time on this course but like all championships you never know. There might be five or six guys in great shape and you can't compete with that. The winner is very impressive and a very great-looking horse that we thought would win if we didn't. I didn't expect to run third, but he did gallop out well after the race and came back to the barn in very good shape.

We wanted to get better this year, and we really thought that getting to .500 was realistic. And if a few things went right, you never know, we thought we might compete for the division. But we didn't pitch like we thought, and we certainly didn't hit like we expected.

Every year is different. In the past, I thought I belonged in the big leagues even when I got sent down. This year I know it's where I belong, and I'm still going down to Memphis. It doesn't make me any happier to go, but I'm in the best shape of my life and I feel like I've got my swing in pretty good shape right now. I'm confident, whatever uniform I put on every day. That's not going to change.

He's playing catch up right now. He had a great finish to his match and showed a lot of heart. It was a great come-from-behind win. I thought his shape was good.

I expected great things. I think we all did. That's why we chose to come to Virginia. We thought it was a great school and a great opportunity. We definitely thought Virginia was under performing. That's kind of what sold us. We came together and we talked on the phone when we were being recruited. We said let's all do this together. Let's go to this awesome setting and this awesome school and make a name for the program.

It was actually the opposite of what we thought. I thought they'd kill us if we got into a running game. They actually sliced us up in the half-court. I thought they were so much more athletic and we didn't have a lot of depth, so I wanted to hold off before we went to (the full-court press).

I am very pleased with our performance today. I wasn't sure what to expect. We have only had one speed workout this year. We've been working a lot on mileage. I thought the girls ran great. Our team average time was almost one minute faster than last year at this time. You have to be excited about that. This was the first varsity race for two of our girls. I thought they did an outstanding job for their first race. Once they get some experience under them, we will be much better. We are running great right now. This will be a good year.

I thought Tony did a great job of really stepping it up when he wasn't having a very good game. Down the stretch in the fourth quarter he really stepped up on both ends of the court and did a great job for us.

He's given us great hope and he's given us great confidence. I didn't see this out of him this year. I just thought it would take next year before he got his legs under him. Benefit number one is his health.
