en I don't blame them for organizing. If I was a newly arrived immigrant in this country, because we are all at one point or another immigrants, I would be upset with the rhetoric being thrown around in response to their hard work and efforts in this country.

en Communities of immigrant and non-immigrants around the country are organizing in ways we have never seen before to send Congress and the Bush administration a message that what was once a sleeping giant is now wide awake.

en This is not a debate about immigrant rights. America being a land of immigrants will never, ever take away the rights of legal immigrants in our country or in our state. Never.

en The intended message is to tell people immigrants are not here to take over the country, or to try to turn it into another Mexico. We have learned from other protests and that's why we want to stress to people immigrants give a lot to this country and that they love this country.

en Where would the economic well-being of this country be without immigrants? What would happen if immigrants all walk off the job? That's the point of May First.
