You wake up in the morning and open up the paper and you don't see the assists, the steals, the other stuff that makes you a good player. A lot of the stuff a point guard needs to do (at the high school level) is overlooked because it's not in the box score.

She was more of a take-it-to-the-hole kind of player in high school. In high school, she was the go-to player. She was expected to score. At this level everyone can score. Now, she has a good understanding of the concepts and taking advantage of mismatches.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. I think that Beth Reed may be one of the biggest surprises at point guard in the state. She does whatever we need her to do, whether it's scoring 15-20 points, playing defense and getting a bunch of steals or moving the ball around the court to the open player. She revolves around whatever we need from her.

I've seen both upbeat and slower music score really high. If it's obvious someone is doing a classical violin piece and the gymnast is bouncing all over, that's not going to score high. But the crowd gets into the high-energy stuff and when everyone gets into it, I think that has an effect on the score.
