From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

I'm pleased to receive this award, ... I have been a constant with this organization for many years now, but we wouldn't be here today if I wasn't surrounded by many other talented people along the way. I'm extremely proud of the Burlington community's dedication to professional baseball as evidence by the fact the Bees have survived and now prospered as the smallest full-season market in the Minor Leagues. I'm also pleased with the response we've gotten on a regional basis from the baseball fans all over Southeast Iowa and Western Illinois that have adopted the Bees as their hometown team.

There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball. They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do.

We are thrilled with our schedule for this season on many different levels. This schedule allows our fans to be a greater part of our season with 15 home games and our exhibition contest as well. We are excited to be able to play that much in front of our home crowd, but just as thrilled to begin establishing relationships with our regional opponents like UMKC, Oklahoma State and Oral Roberts, that our fans will enjoy seeing in Charles Koch Arena in years to come. Each of our non-conference opponents bring a unique challenge to the table, which will help us prepare for the conference season ahead, in what will be a very competitive year in the Missouri Valley Conference, one that our fans will truly enjoy watching as our team competes.

We are very pleased that WBAL will be our flagship station for Navy football games in the Baltimore market, as well as up and down the Eastern Seaboard, ... WBAL radio is widely regarded as one of the top radio stations in the country and it is terrific for our fans to have the Navy football games on its wide-reaching air waves.

We are thrilled about the National Hockey League's decision to partner with XM Satellite Radio, ... The clear winners of this partnership are the millions of hockey fans in the U.S. and in Canada who are incredibly passionate about their favorite NHL team and who will now be able to follow them regardless of where they call home.

What we'd like to do is encourage Cowboys fans to turn down the TV sound and listen to our flagship radio station. Just like on game day.

I think that next season will be an exciting and challenging time for us on the pitch and I look forward to receiving the tremendous support that I know our fans are capable of giving us as we embark on the new campaign.

I think our fans were anxious to have hockey back, and they're going to be in a good mood. It's a long, cold winter in Boston without hockey and the Bruins. I know for us, as players, it's real good to be back and to be doing what we love to do. Hopefully, we can make it up to our fans by having a great season and giving them what they want (a Stanley Cup).

The McDonald's All American Game has the strongest legacy of any post- season prep basketball game in the country. The 2006 class features some of the most evenly-matched talent we've seen in a long time, making these games especially exciting both for the players who play in the games and for sports fans watching at home.

What makes them probably a little bit more dangerous is that they release an alarm pheromone after they sting, which signals other bees to come and attack. Where European bees might come in and sting one time, Africanized bees could probably sting 10 times.

I'm not thinking about the games yet. I want to be there with the guys. I can't wait to get home, to see the fans in San Francisco. I love the ballpark, the city, the fans. I feel I will play this season, but I don't know when.
