I think we looked at it from the aspect that this would be more beneficial to the charities. They would be able to raise more money up front, and it gives us the opportunity to sell more tickets. Last year, the sales period was from March to the end of June, and charities sold 60,000 tickets. With this expanded sales time, our request for tickets is already in excess of 80,000.

There were 500 tickets allotted to each school for advance sales. Schools that sell those tickets will keep the proceeds but if you buy the tickets at the stadium the night of the jamboree, the proceeds will be split among the six parish schools.

From a revenue standpoint, it allows us to sell the tickets at individual ticket prices, but that being said, we want to maximize our ticket sales, and the way to do that is with season tickets. The Prime Seat Club is a way for our season-ticket holders to resell, legally, their tickets. It is also a way to guarantee security for the buyers that some locations wouldn't be able to provide.

Fair ticket sales are our main concern, seeing how tickets have been selling this year. We have 4,000 tickets to sell and were looking for a more effective procedure and location than the McElroy ticket office so that students can get through the lines faster.

We might actually sell out of Magnolia tickets, which has never happened before. We have 570 tickets for the event. At this point, we are approaching 500 sold. This is the largest fundraiser we do every year for the Symphony Guild, and I think this is going to be the best year ever.

I sold some of my tickets this year. I did. I told the league that and I told [team owner] Red McCombs that. I'm not going to lie. But if I'm going to be thrown out this year for selling tickets, then I'm a scapegoat. If I'm guilty of anything, I'm guilty of selling some of my tickets. Our breaking point for knowing whether it was a good promotion to do or not is whether we sold enough tickets to cover it. In the past we've looked at things very simply: We spent $2,000 for this promotion; that means we've got to sell 200 $10 tickets and anything else beyond that is gravy. There are times where we perhaps don't make everything back, but the publicity we've gotten, the exposure we've gotten, eases the loss.

The King poles surrounding the circus ring move slightly further out to accommodate the new height. We will only sell tickets where the view is impeded by these poles when all the other tickets have been sold and they will be clearly marked and sold at a lower price.

When one considers the fact that 2.7 million tickets have been sold and that around 15 million fans applied for tickets on the Internet, the proportion of those prepared to give up their tickets is only in the region of 2 percent.

As soon as we announced the '86 celebration dates and those giveaways, the sales for those tickets increased. Promotions are a factor and people do consider them when they are buying tickets for games.

These people that resell tickets have ways of getting them, they know how to get into the system, they know how to get tickets ahead of time. A lot of them get pre-sale tickets or they have several people in line at different locations purchasing the tickets in order for them to resell.

Before opening night those shows had sold 100,000 tickets. For Dirty Dancing 300,000 tickets were sold. We expect the show to run for at least three years here.
