With so many pre-built applications out there written to a specific platform, the choice of platform is important for more than just developers, but also for some of the more technology-adept users who are just looking to use a specific application.

Microsoft is really trying to push developers to .Net as fast as they can, but a lot of developers we've found have a need to continue to maintain and build new applications on the traditional, Windows 32-bit platform as well as the new .Net.

We think we need to evolve the platform and development story to keep pace with developers who want to build these experiences that reach across the Internet. The more applications, the more value to the user and the more people gravitate to our platform.

Developers often struggle to efficiently build front-end applications with a consistent interface across MFC, ActiveX and .NET. Stingray Studio, by handling the low-level details of GUI application development, allows developers to focus on the business logic that makes their applications valuable to the success of their organizations. We remain committed to supporting the needs of professional developers by releases updated, enhanced versions of Stingray Studio 2006 as customers' needs arise.

We're trying to tell developers there's one unified way of building applications, ... We'll manage the process of deploying to AJAX, Flash or some future platform, so developers don't need to keep figuring out how to apply their skills to the next new thing.
