The special dividend was a nice surprise.

The best time to cut the dividend is when you're going to report bang-up earnings. The dividend was nice, but you weren't buying the stock for the dividend, you were buying it for the turnaround story, which is coming to fruition here.

This is a special dividend and is in addition to the normal quarterly dividend previously announced.

There's no surprise in the numbers coming so close to the profit warnings. The story here is the company's insistence it can pay a dividend.

If they don't pay out a special dividend, it could well indicate that they could be planning for some acquisitions in the near future.

There were a lot of players expecting a special dividend -- myself included -- and that is a bit of a disappointment.
