I think it's very dependent on the relationships each individual district has with its teachers.

en I like working with any kids. There are different challenges working with different age groups. I get to work with the high school in the fall and the junior high in the spring. It's a nice mix. I get to know the kids and stay with them for a few years.

en Most teachers either kick those kids out [of class], or work around them. They'll have them sit in the back with their heads down, while the kids who want to learn are up front.

en Who does the work is a big part of why women earn less. You can look at it from two very different types of jobs -- child-care worker and parking-lot attendant. Guess who earns more? Parking-lot attendants. That work is valued more by our society than a child-care worker.

en A lot of child care programs are over 10 hours a day to meet the needs of working parents, so it seems important to find out where these kids are spending their time.

en We've got kids who have problems in school, kids who've been abused, some kids that this is their last resort before going into foster care. Sometimes our talks in circle-ups (around campfires) are so heart-touching that we all cry.

en The hardest thing we deal with as coaches is that it works. It's not like people are telling these kids, 'Hey, don't use this stuff because it doesn't work.' It works. They know it works. That's why some kids won't listen to you no matter what you say. When you use the stuff, you get bigger and stronger and faster. Kids don't care about all the health risks.

en When it comes to the location, my biggest concern is the safety of the kids. I deal with it as a fireman day in and day out. If I can save one child, one life, I'll feel like I've done something. We are keeping our focus not on the money, but on the kids.

en I'm excited to be at the primary level and know when the kids leave Aux Sable they are going to be prepared for the junior high. I get to work with the students, parents and teachers from day one of their schooling.

en I've enjoyed the kids, I've enjoyed the way the school treats athletics. Education also comes first with the administration, ... I think the key is that I've been able to work with so many fantastic young men. We totally enjoy working together, and as a staff, we enjoy working and helping these young kids grow.

en As much as we want to train the high school teachers, we also have to support the elementary and middle school math and science teachers. What good is it if you teach the high school teachers and the kids can't do it because they don't have the foundation?
