Our hospital is just barely squeaking by. We're not sure that's a good business plan for this valley. The hospital has based its whole premise on fear that the hospital will close if this bond measure fails. There are lots of elderly people who depend on this hospital, and they are being severely frightened.

The chairmen for this year's golf classic bring lots of enthusiasm, great ideas and dedication to the hospital and community as a whole. Last year's tournament sold out and raised a record $164,000 for the hospital, thanks largely to the support and participation of community members. The key thing is that everyone who is suspected of having the virus is in the hospital now, and the hospital's infection control is improving. There is no spread in the hospital as far as we know.

As an individual, and a doctor's wife, I feel strongly that the greater good needs to be addressed, and not emotionally. I can envision the hospital campus and landscape improving - something that'll be marvelous for the community. Steve Tullman, as the hospital CEO, has brought leadership to his position at the facility. I commend him for the role he plays.

Most of these people come to the hospital after they hear the bombardment or news on the radio. They come to the hospital to see who was wounded and who was killed, whether they are their friends or their relatives, their cousins, their commanders - their passions lead them to the hospital.

We view the contact center as an extension of the hospital or clinical front desk and we want to be sure that patients are receiving the same high level of service they would get if they were standing in the hospital.

He is very involved in the community and the hospital. He is so committed, when he moved to Lexington (Ky.) from here, he asked to remain on the (Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital) board. He still attends the meetings. We meet every two months.
