Unfortunately, once the game got out of hand, the score escalated pretty quickly because you have to go for it on third down.

Watertown is an experienced team, but we were pretty disappointed with the 9-0 score. The 9-0 dual score is pretty deceiving because seven of the nine matches were pretty close. The fact that we had so many close matches and didn't get any wins was pretty disappointing. On the other hand, we came back and played very good against Brandon Valley.

The Phoenix game the other night had 27 penalties in it, so that's pretty much the whole game somebody's on the power play. Believe it or not, you almost have got to forget about the score and just try and play the game as best you can with the new rule changes. I know that's hard to think about it that way, but you've got to teach yourself to adjust to the new rules as quickly as possible.

Actually, it was a pretty even game. We actually played pretty good today overall. The shots were pretty close and we had more corners (4-3). It was a pretty even game, except for the score.

I was sitting on the bench. I envisioned the game that way. I was ready to step onto the field. I knew I was going to score. There was no doubt in my mind I was going to score and do everything. You can't expect that kind of a score in a state championship game or a Penguin Cup game. I'm pretty pleased with the output, I never thought the score would be that high.

It was very bad for our players. It had a tremendous impact on the game, huge. We're about to score, then they go 98 yards very quickly and it's 18-7 instead of us leading 14-12. I firmly believe that if we had gotten it in the end zone there it's a football game. I don't know if we would have won, but it's a game. Even at that, we were still in it at halftime. But we weren't the same team in the second half.

We both have really strong emotions about the game and winning. So that goes hand in hand. We play with a lot of heart and it is going pretty well so far.

Colorado played pretty well, and I thought it was a pretty even game. Pascal made three or four great saves. He kept us in the game and gave us a chance to get some points but we couldn't score.

Brandon was the difference. That stretch where he got basket after basket got us some separation. It puts a lot of pressure on the other team to score quickly and every possession becomes magnified. We caught a break with the way he got that hot hand.

You've got to try to limit the big plays, which we've been pretty good at so far this year. They score so quickly, I think it takes the other team out of their offense so fast.

Your left hand is still pretty important. Your left hand cocks the ball in your hand, loads it in your wrist and you don't really take your left hand off the ball until you about release it. So you still have to have pretty good range of motion on your left hand.

Then on the other hand I don't make it easy for those types to meet me, I'm sure. I live pretty privately, let's say. So I've not yet met a film score groupie. If they're out there, then we're keeping ourselves all well hidden from each other.

It's nice to get a reward, seeing your team like we have been seeing here. They have been playing pretty hard, but they never get rewarded. Finally, tonight, there were a lot of guys who had a great game. It was a good team effort. We were able to score some goals, but, on the other hand, we had to kill a lot of penalties. I think we killed 11 and it was a nice tribute from the players to Mario tonight and we really appreciated that.

Michel Therrien (1968-)

I'm impressed with how his game evolved as a 6-foot-7 kid. I'm impressed with how many ways he can score. He is a solid perimeter player and he can score inside. That makes him a pretty valuable commodity.
