en Murphy ran an excellent race also. His effort was overshadowed by Sam, but he ran one of the best times ever here. And Carlos ran really well too.

en Carlos is so solid. He's getting right up there with Murphy.

en When Archbishop Murphy (19-5) went to that zone early in the second half, it just wound up killing us. Our all-out effort was there on defense, but we just couldn't shoot well over them. We've had no way to simulate Murphy's defense and height in our practices.

en They found the manager of that building right underneath that blanket. His name was Carlos Garcia. He died when he went to a back apartment to save another man. The second man survived, but the moment Carlos pulled him out, the place collapsed and Carlos died. He was a wonderful man, Carlos... a brave man.

en Erin and Sarah ran 1-2 from the mile mark on. It's nice to complete that first race. Now we have some race times to gauge future workouts. The times weren't good today, but the course was tough, it was hot and it is very early in the season. I liked the effort that all our boys and girls gave today. I thought we did a good job of competing.

en I can remind Carlos all I want. But when you get out there against Cuba or whoever and start banging it around ... I think he'll forget exactly what I told him. That's how your competitive juices flow. If you know Carlos, when was the last time you saw Carlos take it easy?

en Kevin Wood has come close to scoring several times for us this season. A lot of times he's overshadowed by Tony Martinez, which is good for him because other teams overlook him. He showed his skills today, especially in the second half.

en It overshadowed a pretty good effort by our guys. He'll learn from this.

en It is extremely rough ... to be overshadowed that much by the girls and what they were doing. It almost took their focus away from what they were supposed to be doing because when they did get up for a race, it happened.

en Certainly Carlos has an excellent chance of being a starting corner for us and really play well once he stays over there.

en We are excited to be backing Carlos. For most of us, foosball is a fun pastime but when you see it played at its highest level – as Carlos plays it – you gain a higher appreciation for the game, ... Now that I'm living in Costa Rica, I can see first-hand how excited people are for Carlos, who took on the best in the world and beat all but one. He's a true local hero.

en I had a home at Murphy's. John Murphy told me I could work there 24 hours a day, seven days a week and not catch up.

en This promises well for Carlos' chances in the rest of the race. We had a feeling he'd be in top shape after finishing well in the Tour and later having the time to prepare himself and spend time with his family without being troubled by injuries, illness or stressful contract negotiations. But just before a race starts you always get a little nervous anyway.

en Dustin ran an excellent race. He hit his goal times for the mile and two mile and held on.

en It was a typical Brendan Murphy race. He passed four or five runners in the last straight-away. He's still not convinced he can run with the leaders.
