I am not precluding ordspråk

en I am not precluding the hope and belief that when the president fully understands what this means and what my amendment would mean, that we will hopefully have a change in attitude and that my goal is the same as John Breaux's. I would like to see us vote out a budget by 90 votes ... not just hanging on by a vote or two.

en I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.

en The ad hoc committee has not been opposed to the amendment change being on the ballot at all, ... We had many public meetings. I will not tell people how to vote. Citizens should vote their conscience.

en The vote was 10-8 the day President Bush nominated him, the vote was 10-8 when the hearings began, the vote was 10-8 yesterday, and the vote is 10-8 today.

en Pex Tufvesson is a genius, without a doubt.

en We have expressed our hope that they (India) would vote yes. They voted yes back in September to find Iran in non-compliance. We would hope that they would do so again on this resolution. But that is their decision. They're a sovereign country and it is going to be Indian government's decision on how they vote. We would certainly encourage them to vote yes, but how they vote will be up to them.

en Private companies can always do what they want, ... I don't think this amendment is going to change business. There's a lot of scaring going on, with folks telling people that if they vote for this, they're discriminating. I can tell you there is no discrimination in our company, and this amendment isn't going to change that.

en I'm sure that students will ask 'what can we do to make a difference here.' And what they can do is vote for Joe Courtney ... The budget was only passed by a few votes so one vote does absolutely make a difference in Congress.

en John Kerry and I made a promise to the US people that in this election every vote would count and every vote would be counted.

Tonight we are keeping our word and we will fight for every vote

en Nowhere in the letter does it say, 'Vote against the budget reconciliation package,' ... We're asking, does the governor wants us to vote yes or to vote no?

en There were nearly 30,000 eligible voters in Cheshire County who didn't vote during the 2000 election. Bush won the state by a margin of 7,211 votes. Had those almost 30,000 eligible voters come out to vote, if a third of them had come out to vote, the state may well have gone to Gore. Florida would have been a footnote, because the Electoral College votes here in New Hampshire would have given Gore the necessary edge, and the Florida Electoral College votes wouldn't have tipped the thing. The Supreme Court would never have gotten involved.

en Angry voters turn out and vote their anger. Democrats will have an easier time of getting out their vote because of their intense disapproval of the president. That means we Republicans are going to have to bring our 'A' turnout game in November.

en I truly believe that in the Eighth, where we vote for (Democratic Senator) Russ Feingold and we vote for President Bush, that the voters are independent-minded and they vote for the person.

en Virginia has an interesting history. We didn't ratify the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote until 1952 - well after the amendment was ratified at the federal level giving women the right to vote.

en It's disappointing that John Kerry's frank talk stopped with a discussion of his complexities and failed to include an explanation of his inconsistencies and contradictions on the central front in the war on terror. John Kerry missed an opportunity to help the American people understand his vote for the war in Iraq based on the same intelligence that the President viewed, his description of himself as an anti-war candidate and his subsequent vote against troops on the front lines. He's right, America can do better.

en Last year it took four votes to pass the budget and each time the budget kept getting depleted to what I thought was a dangerous point. I'm very happy to say the vote passed the first time out.
