en The worry now is that it is going to damage oil refineries in the western part of the Gulf after Katrina damaged refineries in the east.

en Refineries in Texas did not take a direct hit from Rita, but the energy grids in that area were effected, and power has not been restored to those refineries.

en It's amazing to see the level of devastation. To put it in perspective, just one of those refineries that is out of commission is larger than all five refineries in Utah combined ? and there are numbers that are not operational.

en It's not necessarily a good thing to have a build in crude. It means refineries did not get up and running as quickly as hoped. It's a disturbing trend heading into winter.

en The concern is that we could be short of heating oil. To prevent that, U.S. refineries need to get back on its feet quickly.

en The refineries are going flat out and additional crude is not going to be able to go through those refineries right away, ... It's a good thing to show to the OPEC countries that we're doing something ourselves to increase supply, but it may not achieve much in the near term.
