en I haven't had any setbacks at all. I'm excited. I called a couple of my buddies the other day and said, 'Man, I'm a baseball player again. Forget this rehab.' Everything's been good.

en I don't put schedules on rehab. That will be determined as we go. He's where he should be in a rehab from the surgery. No setbacks or anything. As long as we can keep progressing, that's what we are after.

And, anybody who knows my son better than me, would like to come forward and tell me something different, I would be glad to hear their voices.

en Jim is an outstanding baseball player. He's a consummate baseball player. He's not real big, he's not very flashy, but he knows how to play the game. He's very analytical. He's a smart baseball player and he's got a bright future.

en I saw it go in by a couple inches. But I was worried the ref didn't have a good view, so I was real excited when he called it a goal.

en He's doing fine. You always want him further ahead than he is but in our minds, he's right where he should be at this time. There have been no setbacks, his rehab is going well. He hasn't been off the mound yet, but right now we're satisfied with his progress.

About half of them said, 'Good luck and go up there and do a good job.' The others said, 'What the [heck] are you thinking about?' So you have to keep that in perspective. You can only go out there and do the best job you can. And in this case, for me, I have a World Series ring as a player; I would love to have another one. This is one of the best opportunities in baseball to get there.

en You do stupid things all the time in baseball. You just have to have a short memory and forget about it. The good part about baseball is that you play tomorrow.

en The more live pitching we'll see, the better we'll get. That was a big hit Freeman had for us. We had a couple of mental breakdowns and looked kind of sloppy, but we haven't played in four or five days. That happens. Tomorrow we'll see good pitching and a really good baseball team.
